Some facts · Native French speaker · MSc in translation and CAT tools (Distinction) · Architect DPLG ARB · Member of Société Française des Traducteurs · Associate of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting
My name is Pierre. I was born in France, from French parents, and I lived there until the age of twenty three. I am therefore a native French speaker. I learnt German, English and ancient Greek at school. Then, during my architecture student years, I learnt Spanish and a bit of Galician. Once I qualified as an architect, I moved to Ireland, where I stayed for ten years. There, I improved my English but also learnt some Irish (Gaelic). I always loved to write and my relationship with languages has eventually pushed me to consider translating. In 2009, I moved to Edinburgh in the UK and started to work as a freelance translator. I graduated from Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh, with a MSc (Distinction) in translation and CAT tools. My French background and professional experience give my clients a unique approach to translation in the fields of architecture, design, construction, real estate, M&E engineering, town planning and conservation. |
